OTHER INFORMATION

  • Because this is a safety course, we do not teach jumping, flips, etc. We only teach the basic skills necessary to operate an off-road motorcycle.
  • At this time, we are not offering ATV classes. ATVs are not allowed in this program.
  • We are not in the business of selling motorcycles or motorcycling protective gear. If needed, we can recommend a few local dealerships where you can purchase these items.
  • There are absolutely no refunds for this program. If the student is unable to attend his or her class, the student will be rescheduled into the next available class.

 DirtBikeSM School

We are proud to offer this exciting new course!

The course is designed for ANY beginning motorcyclist age 6 or older. Classes are divided into age brackets:
  • age 6-11 (four students max),
  • age 12-15 (six students max),
  • age 16 and older (eight students max).

We cannot make adjustments to the class sizes – this is for the safety of our students. If the student is under age 18, a parent must be present for the entire class.

We teach fundamental off-road riding techniques – everything from using the motorcycle’s clutch, throttle, and brakes to surmounting small obstacles. The course is taught on a large flat dirt lot at Palomar College (San Marcos campus location).
  • We do supply the training motorcycle, helmet, goggles, and gloves. However, if a student already owns an off-road motorcycle, you are welcome to bring it to the class. The more practice using your own equipment, the better!
  • The cost is $150 per person. For group classes such as families, work parties, and birthday parties of 4 to 8 people, we offer a special group rate of $125 per person.
  • The course is 5 hours in length although we do ask that the students arrive 30 minutes early to be “fitted” for their motorcycle and protective gear.

There is also a segment of the class that focuses on “treading lightly” – as responsible off-road riders, we need to understand that where we ride is someone else’s home – we have to be respectful of the environment.

All class availability is on a first come, first serve basis. No spots will be held for a student.

Due to the limited class size, classes fill up quickly so don’t hesitate!
